Nanoporous ceramics have a heat insulation property that is 10 times higher than current heat insulation materials
Nanoporous ceramics for super heat insulating materials were
developed.
Nanoporous ceramics fine particles synthesized by a reverse
micelle method exhibit a spherical shape with a nanoporous structure,
and they are effective in reducing conduction and gaseous
conduction.
Aerogel synthesized with a supercritical drying method has a fractal
structure and is transparent and effective in reducing conduction and
gaseous conduction.
Even under a low vacuum, nanoporous ceramics show low thermal
conductivity equivalent to that under a high vacuum.
The new nanoporous ceramics will contribute to development of
super heat insulating wall and window materials, which are expected
to significantly reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions
